COMMUNICATION PLANS

Biology 11 Communication Plan

Topics

1. Characteristics of Living Things

2. Cell Structure

3. Cell and its environment

4. Ecology

5.Taxonomy and Classification

6.Human Systems (Digestion, Circulation, Respiration, Excretion)

Testing and Evaluation

Mini-Quiz/**Homework: Short fill in the blank tests given on one or two week intervals. Class Time: 15 minutes.20%

Labs and Assignments: Some topics will be accompanied by labs while others will have assignments (in-class/at home) associated with them.20%

Major Tests: Objective and essay questions, full one hour tests – one each term.  30%

Comprehensive Test: Objective and essay questions, given prior to first progress report.  30% of that term.

Final Exam: Objective and essay questions: 2.5 hours at end of semester.30%, the remaining 70% will be comprised of the work listed above to achieve the final grade.

Any missed tests are to be written on the student’s first day back to class as they are assigned at least one week in advance. It is the STUDENT’S responsibility to obtain notes and knowledge of work covered during their absences.

1. Should the need arise; I can contact the parents/guardians of any students with the phone number provided by that student.

2. A system has been implemented that will allow parents to check daily attendance and academic progress online. An online homework page is also available.
