Grade 9 Dept of Education Course Information

 

Grade 9 English Academic Program

 This program will follow the Nova Scotia Public School Program of Studies which will prepare students for all grade 10 PSP courses.

Grade 9 Academic (taught from IB perspective)

 This Program has been developed to assist Grade Nine and Ten students in their preparation for the rigors of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.  The IB Program requires critical thinking, problem solving, higher order research, and advanced writing skills that go beyond what is normally required of High School Students.  Students who select this program will follow the Nova Scotia Public School Program of Studies in an enriched learning environment reflecting the IB Learner Profile and Global Perspective.

Grade 9 Integrated French 

 This program will allow students to prepare for the Integrated French Program as well as the IB Program.   Students will study two courses where French is the language of instruction (French Language Arts and Social Studies).  This will prepare them for the Integrated French Certificate Program (Certificat  en français intégré).  Students enrolled in the Integrated French Program may write the Official French Proficiency test (DELF) during their Grade 12 year.
